Geddes, N.Y. - It was a busy weekend out at the State Fairgrounds, the busiest first weekend in fact.
101,590 fairgoers walked through the gates on Sunday, falling short of the daily-attendance record. However, a total of 228,984 people sent part of their Saturday and Sunday at the Fair making it the busiest first weekend in the State Fair's history.
Tonight at Chevy Court Smokey Robinson is Crusin' into Chevy Court at 8:00 p.m. Earlier in the day, Peter Noone will be singing the songs of Herman's Hermits at 2:00 p.m.
Just announced, Dropkick Murphys will be coming to Chevy Court. They will be playing Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. after Dickey Betts suffered a minor stroke.
Today is Law Enforcement Day. The Fair will be honoring members of Law Enforcement with a ceremony at noon outside of the Horticulture Building. There will also be a special parade at 6:00 p.m. decked out with all the police officer trimmings.
It is also Maple and Senior Day. Sample maple products across the Fairgrounds and especially at the New York State Maple Producers’ booth in the Horticulture Building. People over the age of 60 will get in for free, while their favorite freeloading college student can continue to get in for just $1 with a valid and current college ID.
If you love the midway, you can get a wristband for today only that will give you 10 rides for just $10.
