Syracuse, N.Y. - Final preparations will be underway today ahead of the New York State Fair.
The gates open for the first of thirteen days tomorrow. Visitors will be able to get their first look at the new Expo Center which will allow them to ice-skate for free. There are also rides and new food items like beer ice cream.
The butter sculpture will be revealed today. Fair officials say that the carving this year weighs in at 880-pounds and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Some of the biggest names in music will perform free concerts at Chevy Court. There will also be national acts performing at the revamped Experience Stage.
