Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse man is behind bars after being accused of raping a woman at the Skyline Apartments.
Police say 29-year-old Shamik King entered the 74-year-old's bedroom while she slept Sunday and sexually assaulted her. The woman fought back and King left the scene.
She was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the rape and the attack.
Police believe King was able to get into the victim's apartment because the door apparently wasn't locked. The victim told police she did not know King.
