Syracuse, N.Y. - NBT Bank Stadium may be getting an upgrade.
Onondaga County Officials are seeking at least $25 million to renovate the stadium which opened in 1997. They are looking to the state to foot most of the bill.
The hope is to renovate the stadium to keep Syracuse more attractive to the New York Mets. The Mets are the new owners of the Syracuse Chiefs and they will take over operations of the ball club after this season.
The Mets are locked in to keep the club here until 2025 when the lease expires.
