Barlow Proposes Historic Tax Cut Budget To Oswego Common Council

Oswego, N.Y. - Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow has officially unveiled a historic budget to the Common Council that cuts taxes for those living in that City.

It is the first tax cut in 20-years. It slashes the property tax rate by 2.1 percent but does not pillage the City coffers to do it. Syracuse Mayor Billy Barlow said last week that those two things hasn't happened in nearly 50-years.

Barlow credits tough decisions over the last two years for placing them in this position. Those decisions included cuts to the Oswego Fire Department and limiting overtime by City workers.
