State Police: No Criminal Cause For Fatal Rome Fire

State police say that a horrific fire in a Rome mobile home July 23 that killed three children aged 2 to 4 was due to accidental causes.

Fire Investigators say after investigating several tips, they have concluded that there was no criminal activity involved.  Temprince, Eliesse, and Patrick Croad the Third were all found dead in the beds of their mobile home.  Both parents and another child survived the fire.  A cause for the fire has not been determined, but police say the laundry room and the appliances inside remain the focus of where the fire may have started. Patrick Croad told police he could see flames coming from the laundry room door, which blocked his access to the children's bedrooms.
