The City of Syracuse has released a study into the economic viability of the South Avenue Corridor. The 7-month study combined market research and community input to issue recommendations for revitalization along the corridor and assessed land use, zoning, utilities, and transportation infrastructure. Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh says developing South Avenue is an important step toward ensuring that the community is engaged in revitalization efforts. The city envisions South Ave as a vibrant corridor with a diverse mix of use.
