On Thursday, July 12th, 2018 at approximately 1:40 PM, Detectives assigned to the S.P.D. Special Investigations Division executed a search warrant at 420 Merriman Avenue. This search warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the area. As a result of this search warrant, Detectives arrested 13 people for their roles in this investigation. Detectives also recovered 53 Phenobarbital tablets, small amounts of Cocaine and Heroin, 5 grams of Marijuana and 50 grams of Synthetic Cannabinoids during this search warrant.
1- Kareem F. Beasley, 37 YOA, 3315 S. Salina St., Unlawful Possession of Marijuana(UPM), Obstructing Governmental administration 2nd degree and Resisting Arrest.
2-Tyron L. Haynes, 29 YOA, 314 Fitch St., UPM, Criminal Sale of Marijuana 5th degree, and Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
3-Gregory Shannon, 54 YOA, 420 Merriman Ave.,Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 5th and 7th degrees, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Sale of an Imitation Controlled Substance, and Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
4-Keith A. Trice, 45 YOA, 1332 W. Colvin St., Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and an unrelated warrant for a Probation violation.
5-Shannon McGraw, 45 YOA, 526 Orwood Pl., Criminal Sale of Marijuana 5th degree and UPM.
6-George R. Roberts, 51 YOA, 206 Fitch St., Warrant for Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
7-Jovan D. Johnson, 31 YOA, 419 Merriman Ave., Warrant for Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
8-Jazzmen Burley, 31 YOA, 420 Merriman Ave., Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
9-Kanisha Johnson, 33 YOA, 1720 S. State St., Warrant for Criminal Mischief 4th degree.
10-Steven Cruz, 24 YOA, 316 Gordon Ave., Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
11-Celestino A. Nieves, 40 YOA, 131 Reed Ave., Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
12-Reginald V. Pettiford, 35 YOA, 1313 Grant Blvd., Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
13-David O. Carroll, 38 YOA, 1721 S. State St., Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids.
The Syracuse Police Department was assisted by the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office, District Attorney’s Office, New York State Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency in this investigation.
