STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR ANDREW M. CUOMO ON THE RELEASE OF IMMIGRANT FAMILIES
"The Trump administration's move to release immigrant families is a long overdue step to fix a disastrous problem of the administration's own making. Under pressure from the courts, they were finally forced to admit they were wrong.
"Trump's family separation policy that ripped children from their parents has left a dark stain on the history of this nation. The people rose up against this cruel policy and the courts said no more. This is a victory for families and the rule of law. Now the hard work of reunification must be done. We will not forget the children and we will not forget the values that built this state and this nation."
