Parts of CNY Under Air Quality Alert

Albany, N.Y. - State health and environmental officials have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for several CNY Counties.

The advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. in Jefferson, Oswego, Northern Cayuga, and Wayne counties until 11:00 p.m. Monday.

The pollutant of concern is ground-level ozone, a major component of smog. Automobile exhaust and out-of-state emission sources get most of the blame for the ozone.

Small children and people who work or exercise outdoors are advised to take it easy.
