Detectives Still Looking For Man In Photos

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating three suspicious fires that occurred in the Town of Salina. Sunday night at approximately 11:11 p.m., sheriff’s deputies along with firefighters from the Liverpool Fire Department responded to Electronics Park off Larkin Street after a passerby call 911 to report several garbage cans on fire. The fires were quickly extinguished and determined to be intentionally set. At approximately 5:31 a.m., emergency responders returned to the park after a deputy on patrol observed smoke coming from a storage shed. The storage shed sustained significant damage from the fire which was also determined to be intentionally set. Nearly an hour later, deputies were called to Hopkins Park off Hopkins Road after a resident from the area observed the concession stand on fire. The fire also caused significant damage to the building and was determined to be intentionally set.While detectives are actively investigating these fires, they also continue to investigate a fire that occurred at the Syracuse Indoor Sports Center on May 28th. Detectives investigating that fire determined that the rear entrance to the building was intentionally set. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire preventing it from spreading and causing further damage. Detectives previously released surveillance photos of an unidentified man observed in the area at the time of the fire and continue to request the public’s assistance in identifying the man who might be a witness to how the fire started.If anyone has information on the identity of the individual in the photo or who has information about the fires, are asked to call the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 315-435-3051 or by sending a tip using the Tip411 app.
