The suspect has been identified as Zachary J. Talbot, age 24, of Verona, NY. Talbot turned himself into the New York State Police on June 20, 2018 and was issued an appearance ticket for Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court on June 26, 2018 at 9:00 AM. The New York State Police would like to thank the public for their help in identifying the suspect.
Previously, State Police in Lee requested the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals in a surveillance photo regarding a larceny that occurred June 2, 2018, from the Rome Walmart located at 5815 Rome-Taberg Road in the city of Rome, Oneida County. The male was captured on video leaving the store without paying for $92.75 worth of merchandise at the self-check-out. The female pictured is believed to be an acquaintance of the suspect. If anyone has information on the identity of the individuals in the photos above, they are asked to contact State Police in Oneida at 315-366-6000. All information will be kept confidential.
