On Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at about 4:11 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to 158 Lynwood Avenue in regards to a shooting call. Upon their arrival, Officers found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were determined to be deceased by Medical Personnel at the scene. The victims were identified as Luis Sepulveda, 21 years of age and Christopher McLaurin, 28 years of age, both of Syracuse.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation into this incident, which included a neighborhood canvass, several interviews, and the reviewing of evidence located at the scene. As a result, Detectives were able to identify a vehicle used by the suspect.
On Monday June 25th, 2018, Detectives checked 113 Breakspear Road in the Town of Geddes for the vehicle and received information the suspects were inside. The suspects initially refused to come out of the residence, so the area was secured for the safety of the area residents and Officers at the scene. A short time later, the suspects came out of the residence and were taken into custody without incident. Detectives secured a search warrant to check the residence for evidence. As a precaution, the SPD S.W.A.T. team and Hostage Negotiator team responded to the scene to assist. A reverse 911 call was placed to ask area residents to stay inside their homes.
As a result, Detectives charged Treamon J. Elmore, 24 years old and a 13 year old male with two counts of Murder in the 2nd degree, Robbery in the 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. The 13 year old was lodged at the Hillbrook Detention Center. Treamon J. Elmore was later lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center. A photograph is being withheld while the investigation continues.
The 13 year old male was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, stemming from an incident on June 16th, 2018. During that incident, the suspect ran from the scene after a traffic pursuit, where a revolver was recovered inside the vehicle by Officers.
The 13 year old male was also charged with Robbery in the 3rd degree, from an incident on September 19th, 2017, where he forcibly stole a bicycle from another person.
Due to his age, the identity and photograph of the 13 year old will not be released.
