Teacher And Assistant Arrested For Excessive Discipline

Oneida County Sheriffs received a report of excessive discipline at the John E. Joy Elementary School in Rome.

After an investigation a teacher and teacher’s assistant employed by the Rome City School District were arrested.  

30 year old Ashley Rasbach, of Rome, NY was charged with two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor and harassment in the second degree, a violation. 

47 year old Maria Fountain, of Rome was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree. 

Both were released and are due to appear at Rome City Court on a later date.
