NY Governor Welcomes Vice President To Syracuse With Letter

Governor Cuomo welcomed Mike Pence to the state with a letter urging him to stop separating families at the border. Pence was in Syracuse Tuesday for a fundraising event to benefit Republican Congressman John Katko.  In an open letter, Cuomo asked Pence to think like a father and to repeal the policy that is putting immigrant children in cages, forcing them to sleep on the floor.  Cuomo says New York once opened its gates to the vice president's grandfather Richard Cawley, and he asks Pence to act with the same openness and tolerance.
