A North Syracuse man was killed this morning while riding his bike.
State Police say 27 year old, Lawrence Maturo was riding his bicycle back home from Planet Fitness around 6:30 this morning when he was struck from behind by a vehicle, near the North Syracuse Middle School. Maturo was on the shoulder of the road and travel with traffic. His bike was thrown at least 50 yards from the impact.
An eye witness stopped, called 911 and tried to offer aid to Maturo. A Trooper showed up within minutes. Maturo was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he died.
Investigators are asking for the public's help to find a small gray or silver SUV with windshield and front end damage. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Taft Road.
