Kate Spade Suicide Prompts Syracuse Conversation

Fashion mogul Kate Spade has been found dead of an apparent suicide in her Manhattan apartment.  The designer reportedly hanged herself with a scarf on a bedroom doorknob and left a note.   Her housekeeper reportedly made the disturbing discovery this morning inside Spade's Park Avenue apartment.  The 55-year-old burst onto the design scene in the early 90s with handbags and eventually expanded her empire to include bedding, china, wallpaper and shoes.  She leaves a husband and daughter.  Kate Spade was comedian David Spade's sister-in-law. Cheryl Giarrusso, Director of Crisis Intervention Services from Contact Community Services will join us to talk about suicide at 8:05 Wednesday morning.
