Solvay Man Charged With Hate Crime For Road Rage

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Solvay man is charged with a hate crime for a road rage incident in Syracuse.

38-year-old David Brooks was charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime for the incident in February. Police say the unnamed black man cut Brooks off on West Genesee St., and Brooks followed  him for a mile before confronting him on Driscoll Ave.

He's accused of accosting and yelling the N-word and hitting the car of an African-American driver in full view of children.

If Brooks is found guilty, he faces about two to seven years in prison.
