Onondaga County Sheriffs have solved a 2002 sexual assault of a 10 year old girl.
37 year old Shad Goldthwait of Florida, who is already serving time for sexually abusing 2 youngs girls in Oswego County, now faces additional charges.
After his conviction he was required to submit a DNA sample. That DNA linked him to the 2002 case in Clay.
Onondaga County Sheriff Eugene Conway says it took a couple of years to make an arrest because they wanted to be certain they had the right suspect.
Conway said Goldthwait was arraigned on May 8, for the sodomy charge and ordered held on $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond. As of Wednesday morning he was being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center, however Conway expected Goldthwait would eventually be returned to Attica Prison, where he is serving his sentence for the 2016 conviction.
