Tops Gets OK To Shutdown Stores

Williamsville, N.Y. -  Tops Shoppers in Central New York may lose their store.

A federal bankruptcy court judge is giving Tops Markets the official go-ahead to close some of its stores. The Buffalo area based supermarket chain was given court approval yesterday to identify under performing stores and shut them down in an effort to improve its finances.

The company filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.

Tops hasn't said which of its 169 stores are in jeopardy.
