Sheldon Silver Found Guilty On All Counts

A jury has found former New York State  Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver guilty on all 7 counts of mail fraud, wire fraud, extortion, and money laundering. The jury made quick work of it.

It took almost all day yesterday for closing arguments and instructions before the jury was handed the case late in the afternoon.

Prosecutors accuse the 74 year old Silver of using his position as Assembly Speaker to do favors in exchange for four million dollars in bribes.

Silver was convicted a few years ago but the verdict was thrown out after the Supreme Court changed the definition of corruption.
