Syracuse Police responded to a stabbing call around 3am Wednesday at 105 Knaul Street.
What they found when they arrived was a 33 year old male, who was suffering from a stab wound to his left leg.The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The victim said he got into a fight with another person inside the house and that he was stabbed in the leg with a kitchen knife.
Officers checked the residence and found the suspect hiding in an upstairs closet. The suspect has been identified as Leveantria Mathis, 25 years old, of Syracuse N.Y.
Mathis has been charged with Assault in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree.
