Around 9:30 AM this moring, Syracuse Police Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Oberst Street in regards to suspicious death.
A citizen called 911 to report seeing a dead body behind a vacant house. When police arrived they located a male in his 30’s, down on the ground. The male was determined to be deceased by medical staff a short time later.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting in this investigation, and responded to the scene. An autopsy will be conducted on the male to try to determine the cause and manner of death.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending identification procedures and family notifications.
