Parents Fake Son's Cancer For Money

A man and woman in Port Byron are facing charges including fraud after they  set up a GoFundMe page to help with their child's medical expenses after he had been diagnosed with cancer. Only one problem...he didn't have cancer. Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office determined that the child had never been diagnosed with cancer and the parents collected “several thousand dollars in donations.” Martin and Jolene LaFrance - both 35 - are charged with first-degree scheme to defraud and endangering the welfare of a child.
