Monday around 10:30 at night Syracuse Police Officers responded to Maria’s Hot Food, l745 S. Geddes St. in regards to a robbery investigation.
The police met with with an employee who said a male, entered the store and began causing a commotion. The suspect was threatening employees and customers. The suspect then proceed to take sausage snacks off the counter. When the employee tried to get him to pay for the sausage snacks, the male threatened him with a knife.
A description of the suspect was released and a short time later Police located the male He is identified as Markel Washington, 42, of 703 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse.
Washington was arrested and charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree.
