Syracuse police make an arrest in a shots-fired incident Sunday after the suspect led officers on a traffic pursuit and foot chase.
Officers responded to a call around 1pm about shots fired on Wood Avenue, where they found 9 millimeter shells in the roadway and learned from witnesses that a white SUV was involved in the shooting. Officers later spotted the vehicle, driven by Tryron Hines of Syracuse, and tried to get him to pull over, but Hines sped away, eventually striking a parked car. After a brief foot chase, officers took Hines into custody. A loaded 9 millimeter handgun was found in HInes' vehicle, which had been stolen in Alabama. HInes faces multiple charges and traffic violations.
