State Regulators Approve National Grid Rate Hike

Albany, N.Y. - Central New Yorkers should expect to be paying more in electricity and natural gas in the future.

The State Public Service Commission has approved the nearly 11 percent rate hike asked for by National Grid.  The unanimously approved price hikes will be phased in over the next three years. 

By 2020, expect to be paying more than $200 extra per year for electricity and natural has. 

National Grid says they are raising rates to pay for new hires here in Upstate to help maintain their aging delivery system.
