It took Auburn police waiting out a suspect who hid on a roof to make an arrest in an armed robbery Sunday morning.
Police say it all started with a call at 11 am about an attempted robbery on Washington Street. Officers learned an elderly man gave another man a ride, but during the ride the passenger pulled a knife and demanded the victim's wallet. The suspect fled without the wallet. The suspect later climbed onto the roof of a house and stayed there for nine hours, refusing to come down. Detectives say the man admitted to being on the the run from his parole office, who identified him as Bradley Strange. At about 8 pm, Strange jumped to get away but was quickly arrested. He faces multiple charges.
