Demand has been so high for an "active shooter" training program offered by Cicero police that more classes are being scheduled.
Recent school threats have led to a greater degree of interest in the program that provides some tips on what to do in order to protect themselves if a shooter shows up at their school or office. But registrations for the March 24th session were so high that the Town Hall couldn't hold the number of people signed up. So Cicero police will host another of their Civilian Response to an Active Shooter course April 14 from 2 until 4 pm. Those interested must register. Visit the police department website for information on how to register online, or call 315-699-3677 ext. 57. Leave a name, phone number, and the number people attending the training on voicemail.
