Officers were were getting ready to execute a warrant at an apartment building on Pond St when they learned that Harris may have been armed. As a precaution SWAT responded to his apartment on Pond Street.

"947 Pond Street is a large building with a lot of residents," says Syracuse Police Sgt Rich Helterline. In doing what we had to do we did disrupt their lives and it did draw a lot of attention. We did get information that he may have been armed but it turned out to be a BB Gun."

Helterline says that it turned out that Harris wasn't home and was at a house near near Washington Square Park.

Harris was taken into custody there without incident and is being held at the Justice Center.
