Serial Domestic Abuser Deemed Competent For Murder Trial

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse Man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death outside the Motel 6 in DeWitt will stand trial for his actions.

58-year-old Keith Lobdell has been deemed mentally competent.  He is accused of murdering 61-year-old Rena Tindell in November of last year weeks after she had bailed him out of jail for violently assaulting her.

Lobdell had been accused of spending an entire night in May beating Tindell, and then after she posted his bail for that beating, Lobdell choked Tindell with a seat belt the very next day. Six-months later Tindell posted Lobdell's bail for the chocking. 

Lobdell is due to return to court on April 4. He is currently be held without bail at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
