Utica, N.Y. - Utica Police say they are continuing to investigate a "Credible Threat" made against the College yesterday.
Utica College was on high alert Monday due to a credible threat reportedly involving someone being armed with a weapon. Utica Police say the college received threats from the individual around 11:00 a.m. and the campus was immediately locked down.
Armed officers spent hours going room-by-room, building-by-building, combing the campus for threats and escorting students, faculty, and staff, to safe zones before releasing non-residential students and employees from the campus around 5:00 p.m.
Utica Police say that, despite social media rumors, no shots were ever fired on or near the campus and that no students were ever in any imminent danger.
