Father, Son, Charged After Attack On Onondaga Sheriff's Deputy

Salina, N.Y. - We're learning more about an attack on an Onondaga Sheriff's Deputy who was forced to shoot at a man in Salina last week.

Deputy Kristina Ormsby responded to a call involving an emotionally disturbed person on Traister Drive in the Town of Salina at about  7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say that when she got there she was attacked by 28-year-old Andrew Mannolini. Deputy Ormsby did shoot her gun, but missed. The bullet didn't hit anyone else. Mannolini's attack on Ormsby continued until other deputies were able to arrive and help.  One other deputy was hurt by Mannolini while trying to rescue Deputy Ormsby.

Mannolini is charged with assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental operation. He is being held without bail at the Justice Center. 

His 53-year-old father, Mark Mannolini, was also arrested and charged with resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental operation. He is not being held at the Justice Center.
