Two people had minor injuries and a family left homeless when a fire at a home in Mattydale was extensively damaged today.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say Damian Barrios discovered the fire on Harrington Street, called 911 and got the other three adults and two children out of the house. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the home when firefighters arrived. Barrios recieved minor burns and another adult was slightly injured while escaping. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants with temporary housing and other needs.
