Auburn Prison Guard Accused of Waterboarding

Like a scene out of Shawshank Redemption,  an Auburn a prison guard is facing accusations that he waterboarded and violently beat two inmates in two separate incidents according to a report in the New York Daily News. 

The paper says that Lt. Troy Mitchell, 54 is under investigation after two inmates accused him of pouring water over their mouths and noses while they were shackled. He also is accused of beating inmates in their groins, one to the point that he now requires a catheter. 

A lawyer has filed court documents in an Albany Supreme Court. 

Mitchell had been included in 2 other allegations by prisoners in the past,  as well as being the center of a sexual harrassement lawsuit, filed by a former female corrections officer. All total he has cost the state over 900,000 dollars in judgements and legal fees. 

He was suspended in August of last year, without pay as the investigation continues.
