Katko, tweeted out that he was on board and that he was safe and was incredibly grateful to the first responders. The train was carrying several members of Congress to a legislative retreat in West Virginia when it collided with a garbage truck just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. One person was killed and another was seriously injured in the collision. The White House said there are no serious injuries among members of Congress or their staff. There are no reported injuries to passengers or crew members on board the train, according to Amtrak.
