Liverpool, N.Y. - State Senator John DeFrancisco says that he is running for Governor.
DeFrancisco told a room of supporters at the Holiday Inn on Electronics Parkway that he hopes to change culture of economic failure in the State.
"I have found that the only way to bring about prompt, fundamental change is a change from the top, in the Governor's Office."
DeFrancisco meandered through a myriad of economic blunders that have hamstrung the State under the Cuomo administration. He also took a few jabs at the ongoing trial of a Pair of Syracuse based Developers and a man considered to be Gov. Cuomo's right-hand-man. He went as far as to say that the nationwide tourism campaign is really a corrupt taxpayer funded vehicle for the Governor's future presidential ambitions. Cuomo is the expected to seek a third term as Governor.
The Deputy Majority Leader in the State Senate will be battling against the former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra and Finger Lakes assemblyman Brian Kolb for the Republican nomination.
