Pay Raise For Syracuse Developer's Son Focus Of Testimony

A raise given to the son of a Syracuse Developer was the focus of part of the day's testimony in a corruption trial involving two Syracuse based developers and Governor Cuomo's right-hand-man.

Prosecutors allege that Steven Aiello, the father, paid $35,000 to Joseph Percoco not just to clear a labor union obstacle for Inner Harbor development, but also so his son could get a raise.

Witnesses were called today to discuss a $5,000 raise given to Steven Aiello Jr. who worked as a staffer for the Executive Chamber. As evidence prosecutors brought up a scathing email that Percoco had written demanding that the son of the Syracuse Developer receive a 10 percent raise. The person responsible for putting through the pay raise says that it was the first time she had been made aware of the pay raise and received no other authorization for the raise other than Percoco's profane e-mail.
