New York - A federal jury in New York City heard opening statements yesterday in the corruption trial of Governor Cuomo's Top Aid.
Prosecutors in their opening statements said that Joseph Percoco wielded influence in Cuomo's office as his right hand man. They also argues that next to the Governor, Percoco was the most powerful man in State Government and that he abused that power by accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from business owners.
The first witness on the stand yesterday was an FBI agent testifying about the Percocos' finances. Today it is expected that Cuomo's chief of staff, Linda Lacewell, will take the stand.
