Syracuse, N.Y. - Central New Yorkers need to take serious precautions against the cold for at least the next couple days. A wind-chill warning is in effect through Sunday. Syracuse won't see double-digit temperatures until Sunday and until then, it could feel as cold as 30 below with wind chill.
Frostbite could be possible in as few as ten minutes. If children, or anyone else, dare the subzero temperatures they should make sure their skin is covered. Also, be aware of the signs of frostbite and hypothermia.
Schools across Central New York are closed today. Most local school districts and private schools had announced that they wouldn't have class today; while the stragglers made their announcement this morning. You can get the full list of delays here.
