Albany's First Big Day Of 2018

Albany, N.Y. - The State Legislature is getting back to work today. Both the Senate and the Assembly need to tackle a $4 billion budget deficit as Democrats are looking to push back against a Republican Federal Tax Overhaul.  Also making for a bleak financial outlook is the neglected finances of New York City’s aging subway system. It needs several billions of dollars in repairs.

Meantime, the Governor is expected to roll out more than 20 different proposals in his State of the State address today ranging from combating workplace sexual harassment, revamping the school lunch program,  and cleaning up lakes affected by toxic algae blooms; plus he has new gun laws, and a crackdown on 'revenge porn' and 'sextortion.'

The Governor begins his address today at 1:00 p.m.
