Cuomo Wants Guns Out Of The Hands Of Domestic Violence Offenders

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo is proposing to take guns out of the hands of those convicted for any domestic violence crime.

The Governor is expected to make the proposal in his 2018 State of the State next month.  The bill will require the immediate removal of all firearms when someone is hit with a misdemeanor or felony domestic violence charge.Under current law only those convicted of  felony domestic violence must surrender their guns. 

Other proposals in the bill are said to include the surrender of all firearms, including rifles and shotguns, when a judge gives an order of protection as well as when a person has their concealed carry license suspended.
