Convicted Ax Murderer Sentenced In Deadly Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. - A man convicted of murdering his roommate with an ax in the 90s has been sentenced to 25 to life in prison for setting a deadly fire last year.

Shaun Bowen was convicted for setting a fire in a Court Street home that killed 49-year-old Richard Fabrizio in May of 2016. Bowen put a propane tank in an oven at home where he had been asked to leave.

He was also sentenced to 15-years in prison in 1993 for attacking a man with an ax. Prosecutors back then said he partially severed his roommate's head with an ax and then stabbed him in the chest.
