Central New Yorkers can make a direct difference in helping fight hunger with the Food Bank of Central New York and Wegmans.
The Food Bank will be at different Wegmans stores this week to interact with customers and accept donations of non-perishable food. The donations will go back to the Food Bank's warehouse where volunteers will separate the donations into different food categories and then distribute them to the 262 different food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters the Food Bank works with in their 11-county service ares. Last year, the Food Bank collected 7,000 pound of donations from the 9 area Wegmans locations. Visit the Food Bank website to find which Wegmans stores they will visit this week.
