Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police are naming the man that led them and the County’s Air One helicopter on chase across two highways last night.
John Besaw was arrested after Police say he stole a Chevy Trailblazer last night on West Genesee Street. Officers spotted the stolen SUV and the chase began when they tried to pull it over.
Besaw led officers over I-81 and I-690 leaving the City before returning to ditch the SUV at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Wall Street. Besaw fought with police as they tried to arrest him.
Besaw is charged with several felonies including grand larceny, and numerous traffic-related infractions.
He is being held at the Justice Center.
