Syracuse fire officials have identified a man taken to the hospital in critical condition after a fire at a North Side home early Tuesday.
Ryan Wheeler was hindered by a pre-existing medical condition that left him unable to walk Wheeler was found unconsious and unresponsive by firefighters in a first-floor room of the home on Second North Street. A dog was reportedly found dead next to Wheeler, whose condition at present is unknown. Two other adults, including Wheeler's twin brother and mother, escaped without injury. Fire crews also removed four dogs.
