SU Mumps Cases Rise, Up to As Many As 26

SU is dealing with a serious outbreak of mumps, with as many as 26 cases cropping up since the fall semester began.

There are reports that the cases of mumps, which have grown steadily over the past few weeks, are generally found among the university's lacrosse team.  Their activities have been shut down for the semester.  The school says students diagnosed with mumps have been isolated, and that the university is working to educate them.  Health experts say it's very contagious, and students are being advised to not share food or eating and drinking utensils, wash hands regularly, and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
