A Canastota couple face felony charges for extorting thousands in cash from an elderly man.
State police investigators arrested Kenneth Bennett and Michelle Beck September 28 after an investigation found that they extorted $100,000 in cash from a man in East Syracuse over a one year period. Both were arraigned by a town of Dewitt judge and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center. Beck is being held on $10,000 bail, while Bennett was remanded without bail.
