State police say the driver whose vehicle hit a Central Square school bus is hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
Troopers say the vehicle was traveling on Shanty Creek Road around 4pm when it hit the bus at the intersection of Barker Road. The driver of the vehicle was extracted is now in critical condition at Upstate Hospital. School superintendent Thomas Colabufo said in a statement that students who reported bumps on their heads were examined by medical personnel and the school nurse. The bus driver was not injured. Another bus transported students home who already had not been picked up at the scene by parents. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
