Onondaga County's water authority is providing updated information to its customers in light of the problems of blue-green algae in Skaneateles Lake.
The authority supplies water from Skaneateles Lake to certain streets in the towns of Dewitt, Lafayette, Onondaga, as well as the city of Syracuse. Those customers should follow reports from the city as well as the county and state health departments to determine their impact from the algae blooms on Skaneateles Lake. All other customers receive water from either Otisco Lake or Lake Ontario, which are not experiencing the algae problem.
Visit OCWA's website to see the list of towns and streets receiving water from Skaneateles Lake.
